Mending holes in woolen socks and other knitwear is an eco-deed that extends the life of these garments and thus saves nature. A darning mushroom is a simple tool that facilitates this work by enabling easy handling of the part to be mended during the darning procedure. The darning mushroom is slipped into the garment in such a way that the hole to be mended rests exposed on top of the mushroom.

This darning mushroom is handmade in Finland, based on the design of Ekovekotin Ltd and exclusively produced for us in a small woodshop. The raw material of this hand-turned darning mushroom is Finnish birch wood. It comes from individual trees in the woodshop’s surroundings that have been cut down for one reason or another. The surface of the darning mushroom is sanded smooth, otherwise it is untreated.

The cap of the darning mushroom is approx. 8 cm in diameter and its total height is approx. 12.5 cm.
